The Need is Real.
1 in 5 children in the U.S. live in low-income households, and many lack consistent access to essentials like soap, deodorant, shampoo, toothpaste, and menstrual products. Schools report that students often miss class or avoid participation simply because they don’t have what they need to feel clean, comfortable, and confident.
Our impact goes beyond hygiene.
When students don’t have access to these essentials:
Absenteeism increases. 34% of teachers report students have skipped class due to lack of hygiene access. That number rises to 42% for high school students. 1 in 5 girls in the U.S. have missed school due to lack of menstrual products
Bullying rises. 42% of students experiencing hygiene poverty report being bullied or missing school due to hygiene-related issues.
Confidence drops. Lack of access to hygiene resources can cause students to feel uncomfortable in their own bodies, reducing their ability to participate, engage, and feel confident at school
Social exclusion. Students who struggle with hygiene are more likely to experience exclusion, bullying, and feelings of embarrassment, all of which directly impact confidence and sense of belonging
But when hygiene is accessible, everything shifts.
Our approach is simple and intentional.
We partner with low-income schools and educational centers serving at-risk youth and families by providing fully stocked hygiene carts. These carts are filled with new, essential products—items that are often hardest to access but most needed.
And most importantly, our policy is rooted in one core belief: these supplies must be available and accessible to everyone. Not locked away. Not limited. Not something students have to ask or feel ashamed to receive.
Because hygiene is not a privilege, it’s a foundation for health, confidence, and opportunity. And every student deserves that foundation and opportunity to achieve success.
